Austin Sandhaus (b. 1988 New York, NY) is a photographer based in New York City. 

Interested in collapsing the porous exchange between photographer, subject, camera, and viewer, she moves the lens to the personal, the queer, the quiet, and inbetween moments often rendered to the background of our optics. With a sensitive approach, she shapes light to hold her subjects, creating an architecture within the frame, supporting and releasing the subject’s essence ultimately bringing the viewer to meet the unseen. 

Her work has been published in W Magazine and the Coveteur, and has worked with brands such as Kallemeyer,  Aime Leon Dore, A--Company, Nu-Swim, Diotima, Bergdorf Goodman, Zara and J. Crew. Select celebrity commissions have included Colman Domingo, Leisha Haley, Jenna Lyons, Robert, Olivia Washington and John Early.
